Wade and I went on a ride on Monday and instead of going up to the north shoreline trail (due to traffic and time) we went and did little cottonwood/temple quarry.  to be met with a big surprise.

This is the first bridge you come to...as you can see it wasn't...um accessible.

Water had piled up behind a logjam and went around the bridge and washed it clean away.  The trail heading up to this had a 4 foot deep by 3 foot wide tear in it for about 50 feet.
as you can see.

There is quite a bit of water flowing right now from the sudden thaw/rain.

Looks like this trail (as we currently know it) will be out of commission for a while.

Monday june 14 I am planning a ride up the north side of shoreline. It's not really to mordor, but the last time I rode it in the spring it looked just like something out of tolken. If the forecast holds let's plan on 545 at the city creek parking lot

As an update to the last two posts; The DP at Alta was a fail, and the
manly bike ride was very manly and occurred in a very manly and old
spicey way.

Alta DP: Wade and I were turned around at the mount of the canyon due
to avalanche control work being done on the highway.

bike ride: Dustin and I had a good leisurely time climbing up dry creek
to the shoreline and a very speedy decent back down via the bobsled. I
can't speak for Dustin, but i would say my levels for this year are; 90%
leg strength/50% arms, 65% confidence and about 75-80% max bobsled
speed. 100% being where I feel my max levels can/ought to be. My legs
are feeling mighty strong after ski season, but my arms were sorely out
of shape, which did little to aid my confidence on the technical and
jarring sections of the ride. Also, both Dustin and I expressed a
feeling that the "flow" just wasn't there, but hey its early season so
big deal wanna fight about it? I will update at the end of the year and
report on where those levels are.

Let's go ride bikes tomorrow.  Manly bikes.  on manly trails.  In the dirt.  Where men are made.  Men who use Old Spice body wash and strut about.  On bikes, not horses.

I'm planning on probably doing the usual Dry Creek to Bobsled loop at 10am.  Anyone who loves dirt is more than welcome.  Call me if you need directions to the JCC where we park, or have any other questions.

another exclamation point subject line. But this one deserves it. One
week after Anna and I got back from Coyote Gulch its 3 feet fun on the
bun at Alta. Since its closed Wade and I just hiked up the resort and
hti up a few short shots. it was lovely plus!
