Wade and I rode on Friday, doing the same corner canyon loop as last time. This time i got a good view of the descent down ghost falls, one of the best downhills in the area, enjoy the video above, choose full screen for full effect

We had a great ride at Corner canyon this Saturday and a great turnout
for the first salt lake valley ride of the season. It was also a great
time to try out new gear as Tom L., Joe, Van AND petro were either on
their first or second ride on new bikes. Wade and I being the only
holdout. So anyway, we brought the GoPro and the video is up. The
footage is almost uncut so its long but only about 6 minutes, so enjoy.

Spring is that wonderful do it all time in the Utah, the mountains will have 200 inches of snow this week (with more coming) and the trails in certain parts of the state starting to enter their prime its a good time to be a Utahn. This Easter weekend we went out to test that theory in Southern Utah and did some riding on the semi famous Gooseberry mesa trail. We drove down the St. George Friday night and then left with Coby, and his friends Wade and Dave and Daves older brother Mike. We pulled a little tent trailer out onto the mesa and had a nice little camp. We were woken up at 4 AM by a freak storm that came and went fast but other than that it was uneventful. We got at about 730 and were all packed up and on the trail by 900. We decided to take the South Rim trail and go from there.
Coby and I had GoPro's so we got some good footage of the fun singletrack, the slickrock known as Gods Skatepark and the mesa edge and the ride back along the white trail. It was pretty cold riding for the first hour, the second hour warmed up and we had a good time. We had minimal personal casualty; Everyone ate it a little. The truly unfortunate turn of events was that Dave's rental cannondale had a catastrophic hub failure about where the south rim trail meets up with the white trail...so he had to head back to the car. 0 - 2 for him i hear. Other than that, it was a great ride. We didn't take many pictures, just one in fact of us on the ridge.
Coby also had mytracks running (we had great verizon 3g out there...go figure) and got a track of our route. That data can be found here
I might be out in the mountains tomorrow skiing. Lets hope.
What a storm! What a dissapointment that i was sick almost all of it. Wade and I finally got to out skiing after a rocky weekend to enjoy some of the pristine quite and beauty of the dawn patrol.

The snow was a bit of a disapointment considering there was about 3 feet that fell in this storm. The snow was present, but hidden underneath a light crust that has been the bane of my existence this season.
Still....WHAT A MORNING!
Even if the snow sucks, i just can't get enough of that Wasatch, its so healing.
And it wasn't all that bad.
Hopefully there is still some good times to be had, and because we have 200 inches...I'm betting their will.
