So here is the plan for the crest. Meet at 230 at 7760 plum creek lane
sandy UT and we will drive up at 3. expect at least 2:30 hours of ride
time and the possibility of last minute cancellations for weather (the
weather forecast is looking like 50% heavy rain) if there is a
cancellation it will be sent out via the blog and mail list.

The crest is coming up this weekend and I am going to start needing an
accurate count of attendees for transportation reasons. So far; me,
dustin and wade (pending) are the only ones confirmed. I will have room
for up to 8 people total without arranging something else so please let
me know if you can make it. Email me @ pat.utrc@yahoo.com is you think
you will be able to make it. I can count at least 6 other people who
would like to come, so if that's you...let me know!
Petro, Wade, And the Rob's (my uncle and his friend) and I rode Flying dog last night and long story short; fun. I still haven't figured out why its called flying dog but that's okay.
We started at 6 pm at the very bottom of the mountain behind the park city elementary school, normally we would have started higher but they were resurfacing the streets in Jeremy Ranch so we couldn't. All in all it added about 3 miles of trail but it was fun.
As you can see from the profile, this ride is about one thing, climbing.
Starting in Bobs basin we climbed 450 feet before hitting the flying dog connector trail (the trail we normally would have started at).
From there it was another 850 feet to this point.
it was very green and the weather was beautiful. We rode this road for about 200 yards before hitting the flying dog trail.
The big rock you see was once half buried, peacefully enjoying being a rock when it was rudely jarred out of place by an errant toe. The toe, for its part, broke under the might of this noble rock. Nature; you scary.
Here is wade climbing through the wildflowers, near the top.
I would have more pictures to show you at this point, but in my stupid haste i deleted half of them. So you will have to deal with the video which, thankfully, lives on a separate folder on the card so it wasn't oafishly erased. Look above for the video, coming today or...Tuesday.
So for Wade, Petro and I riding didn't get any more sweet than
yesterdays ride on one of utahs most legendary trails: mid mountain.
Perfect weather: 70 overcast with light breeze. Perfect conditions; not
overly dry and no wet spots on the trail. And fast. For those who
haven't tried it, you basically start at the silver lake lodge lodge in
Deer valley and ride across the resort, across Park City resort and if
you feel like it, across the Canyons too. you can even connect with the
famous wasatch crest if your feeling strong. we rode almost 11 miles
from the lodge to sprio trail in Park city, it was great! Above is a
sampler video and coming soon is the full version. Click here to check
out the MyTracks report.

These are my favorite pedals and they are on sale. Its 12:28 pm july 5th and they will be up for another 25 minutes. If you are looking at getting clipless pedals, these are the stuff. Pricey, yes. Worth it, absolutely.
