Who likes skiing AND like being on camera?

 These guys!

Yesterday Coby convinced me to skive off and go skiing with him instead of working, it was hard work for him.

Our first run was the upper cirque right off the tram and from first glance in looked really good.

Despite the fact that the snow cover was looking a little threadbare on top.

So was it good?

Yes and no

Well, the first 4 inches were, after that the due east facing slope was a little...um... alot icy underneath.

Even the trees were a little icy, but still fun.  The solution was to head back to mineral basin where the sun and more time to soak.  So...

Back to the book ends we went looking for the right combo or un-tracked and sun soaked.

And found it.

Oh and a memo to Baron Von Douche and any other people who think its cool to drop in on someone's line (especially when they are clearly about to drop)...it is not.

So we stayed here a while until that got played out and then headed over to gad 2 for some upper tiger tail action

Which was actually the best skiing of the day for me.  Nice and creamy.

So that's it, 10 runs, 17,300 feet and 50 MPH later, we were spent.  I feel bad for both our legs, but at least Coby doesn't drive stick, I barely made it to work this morning!

To check out the stats head over here.

Oh, there may or may not be a movie coming, Cobys GoPro ran out of batteries and mine was taking pictures all day long.  Oh well.

Wade and I had a really great tour today, good snow, good weather it was pretty good.

We toured in bear trap fork up Big Cottonwood because the avalanche forecast called for considerable danger on slopes over 30 degrees for all aspects and bear trap is less than 30 degrees with a nice mild approach with the final push being up a heavily tree anchored slope.  It was a good little hike though not as long a one as we had planned as we had originally planned to go all the way to the top and hit the more open area we have done in the past.    We decided, instead, to follow the lead of other skiers that day and stick to the heavily anchored aspen groves south of our goal.  its wasn't as open as we would have liked, but the snow was really good and the terrain fun.  Check out the Map for more details on our hike and ski (be sure to click on the "end" to get the topo and stats)

or check out the interactive map

Check out a few more pictures of wade tearing it up.  There is a video I shot with the go-pro too I will post when I get around to editing it.

And lest we forget, the Apres ski.  Anyone who knows Wade and I know we are BIG into the Apres ski scene..... or at least we enjoy eating after a ski.

Our new hangout, since Lonestar taqueria has become to big for its britches, is back east subs.  I really like a good cheesesteak and these guys are the best.

Also, they do wings.

Delicious!
